Road Construction Updates for April 2016

CITY OF FARMINGTON HILLS PROJECTS

13 Mile Road Rehabilitation, Haggerty Road to Halsted Road

This project is scheduled to begin April 11, 2016 and will require a full closure of 13 Mile Road between Fountain Boulevard and Equestrian. A detour route utilizing 12 Mile Road will be signed to accommodate motorists. This project is expected to be completed mid-summer.

COUNTY PROJECTS

Middlebelt Sewer Transport and Storage Tunnel (I-696 to Northwestern Highway)

This Oakland County Water Resources Commission project will continue through 2016. Currently, Middlebelt Road is closed between Highmeadow and Wellington and will remain closed until further notice. A detour route has been signed that guides thru traffic around the project via Inkster Road.

MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MDOT)

I-275 Reconstruction, North of 5 Mile to I-696

A firm start date for this project has not been established at this time but work is expected to begin within the next three to six weeks. Stage I includes completely closing southbound I-275 throughout the entire project limits for approximately four months. When Stage I is completed, Stage II will begin, which includes closing northbound I-275 throughout the entire project limits until fall 2106. Additional information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.
